A loan of $400 helps to construct a modern zero-grazing unit.

Gladys’s story

Gladys is a small holder farmer who lives in a remote village in Nandi Hills. Gladys is 44 years of age, married and blessed with kids. Gladys specializes in crop farming and dairy farming. Through farming, Gladys has gained so much recognition and she feels proud of that.

Gladys enjoys dairy farming more than the other enterprises. She loves feeding her cattle because of the consistency they have in milk production. She plans to increase her cows so that her milk profits will increase and she will be able to reap more from her enterprises. Gladys has requested this loan so that she can build a modern zero grazing unit for her cattle. She wants to build one of the best zero grazing units that will allow her to easily feed her cattle in a move to increase milk production. She is confident that she will increase her milk output and this will translate to more profits.

Gladys was inspired by the efforts of Juhudi Kilimo in alleviating rural poverty through financing enterprising women like herself. Gladys has also learned that Kiva lenders are able and willing to support her by lending, in a move to elevate her living standards. This loan will have a lasting impact in her life and that of her family. Kindly consider this industrious young

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
