Tonny is 26 years old and lives in the town of Kitintale in the Makidye region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, Tonny has been working hard to manage his metal business, which performs the welding of metal windows and doors.
To help expand his business, Tonny has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase metal materials to tack weld more windows and doors to attract more customers, and it will help Tonny to generate greater profits and meet his family’s basic needs. Tonny hopes that in the future he will be able to build his own residential house.
Tonny is a member of BRAC’s Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Tonny who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
