Hi Everyone,It’s Ell & Dave from Welter here.
Dave and I are really excited because we have just finished mixing our new album, VLADIVOSTOK AIR.
Why are we so excited? Well, we have spent hours together over the last year rehearsing and arranging some fabulous new songs, If you’d like a sample please click this link to sample two songs, ‘Not The Marrying Kind’ and ‘Kathy’s Battleground’ https://soundcloud.com/weltermusic/marrying-kind-kathys-battleground/s-RDZRT Jacob Parker’s bass playing is awesome, he’s really added his signature to the Welter sound whilst Tony Wall, as engineer/mixer/producer and arranger, has sprinkled such beautiful magic across the top of the whole project, Tony has worked on previous albums, but has out done himself this time. Also with a captivating guest appearance from Andrew Robertson on flute and saxophone, Johnny Gauci spirited keyboards parts and Craig Mclaughlin’s sensitive yet powerful lead guitar, it makes us very keen to show you the culmination of over a year’s work.
But it’s not finished yet and we need your help.
All music becomes a soundtrack to our lives. We hear a song and it triggers memories and associations from deep in our subconscious and it has the ability to transport us back to that time for a moment. In years to come when you hear Vladivostok Air, we hope you will remember what you were doing in 2017, how you felt and how you helped us make the album happen.
If you have family, or friends that you know would love our music and might like to get on board with help us finish this project, please feel free to share us.
Thanks in advance
Come Feel the Music!
Welter is the brainchild of singer-songwriter, Elliott Weston and drummer Dave Williams. Their connection and passion has been the driving force behind this unique Australian songwriting duo. They both come from different musical directions, Elliott busking around the world with acoustic folk and Dave’s edgy hard driving blues/rock. Blending their styles was always going to be a welter, an “uncontrollable mass”.
When they came together, initially as temporary housemates in Bondi Beach, their musical relationship and friendship has produced some of the best critically acclaimed music to date. This includes the Cleaver EP, the debut Satellite Generation LP, the seminal Million Star Motel LP and Elliott’s solo album, Lo-Fi Hollywood If you’d like to hear some of our previous albums you can check them out here, www.weltermusic.com Here’s a live film clip of ‘Mostly Water’, https://youtu.be/Es50Q4BproQ
So, we’ve mixed the album, but there’s still a few things that need to happen before it’s ready for you to hear.
We plan to spend the funds raised from this campaign to finish to phase.
We need to;
Total $7590.00
Our Challenge
As Welter is an indiependent band, and whilst we have managed to get the project this far on our own, our greatest challenge now is to fund the next phase. The manufacturing and marketing of the album requires as much money again as we’ve already invested.
Recognition and accessibility to the comercial market is always a tough challenge for indiependent bands, due to large marketing budgets that Record Companys throw at their artists, also gaining access to industry connections is a constant struggle.
A way around these obsticals is social networking/marketing, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc, and also endorsments and reviews, is a way to get our music out to the masses. The starting point to all this comes from our close friends and fans, to help share our music and story, which is already happening. Social media marketing does have a snowball effect, the challenge here is getting the snowball over the top of the hill, which is where we require your help.
