The PVIFF Digital Institute is the first complete online film school that offers the nuts and bolts of the film and television business. The institute will offer more than 20 courses online for amateur as well as experienced filmmakers. These courses will be taught by some of the industry’s most successful artists as well as television and film executives. The institute is being formed by the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF). PVIFF was developed in 2006 and has held more than 50 workshops and panels over the past 7 years. These workshops and panels were taught by some of the industry’s top artists and executives. The institute will be taught some of these same artists and executives.
Our mission is to create an institution that will inspire, educate and create employment opportunities for many.
The institution will offer aspiring and working producers an opportunity to learn from successful film and television producers. The courses will be taught by successful working producers who will offer real world experience with practical application.
Gibson’s long list of accolades began well before he earned a diploma from Manning High School in South Carolina (1997). Between 1996 and 1997, Gibson used discipline to both complete National Guard Basic Training and serve as Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper (The Monarch).
(2001) He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Media from High Point University in North Carolina leading to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, (2005). Both universities acknowledged and honored his potential with multiple scholarships (Hugh Obrien Academic Scholar 1997, Wheelz 90.3 Journalism Scholar 1997, High Point University English Scholarship Honoree 1998-99 / 2000-01). He also studied in the field, completing internships at multiple media outlets including Fox 8 WGHP, The Greensboro News & City Record, The Museum of Black Inventions and Innovations, and Barnett Entertainment.
James “JB” Brown has 20+ year’s as a veteran and trailblazer in the entertainment industry on a
whole. He has many interests, attacking them all with flair and fervor is his method.
JB’s collegiate educational road began in 1987 at Norfolk State University then onto The University Of Maryland, College
Park Maryland and having majored in Mass Communications and Film Production & currently The University of Phoenix,
majoring in I.T Multi Media Design. These skills provided a map that would take him on quite the journey. That journey
began in 1989 at Black Entertainment Television where James spent two years as an assistant and associate producer on the
popular show Rap City.
The next few years moved quickly as did the advancement and invaluable experience acquired on such a learning tour of duty.
JB spent 1992-1993 at 900Frames Video in New York as a 1st assistant director. He worked from 1993-1994 at 20TH Century
Fox and Zoo/BMG as a composer, writer and recording artist.
