We at Nimuno have spent our lives building and creating using LEGO®. As professional designers, we see the creative potential it offers people young and old.
In fact, we liked LEGO® so much that we wanted to find a way to bring it to everyday surfaces – to join LEGO® to the rest of the world. Nimuno loops does just that through its flexibility, cuttability and its re-useable adhesive backing. Forget the Internet of Things. We want to see the LEGO® of Things!
The possibilities are endless and we’d like you to have the opportunity to create paradigm-shifting builds on more-or-less any smooth surface, anytime.
We need your help to bring Nimuno to life. We’ve worked long, hard hours to take Nimuno from concept to working prototype. After more than a year of development, we’re confident the product is ready for production. Your contributions will help us pay for final prototyping and testing of Nimuno Loops using various materials and adhesive, as well as the creation of industrial tools for the casting of Nimuno Loops. With your contributions we want to create a thriving business based right here in Cape Town that makes the world a better, kinder and more creative place. Where no child is left playing inside and where Lego is everywhere!
If we raise $8,000 USD we can pay for the tooling, packaging dies and services we need to get this product manufactured, packaged and shipped to your door. This investment will pay for:
So you think Nimuno is amazing, but you’re not ready to jump in and pledge? No sweat. Here’s how you can help: Let your people know about us. Show them pictures. Tell us your ideas in the comments section (we really want to know – that’s one of the reasons we’re on Indiegogo). And most of all, share Nimuno Loops – like it, Instagram it, tweet it, and forward it to everyone you know.
Hi, we’re Anine Kirsten and Max Basler; professional industrial designers based in Cape Town. We grew up in Cape Town and studied together at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
We’re both passionate about design; not just on screen or on paper, but in everyday life. We strive to make the world a better place by making things that are functional and beautiful. Most of our work is focused on toys, particularly toys that engage children with the physical world and encourage creativity. We’ve both contributed to various Ybike designs over the last few years, and a number of other non play-oriented products, working for Chrome Cherry Desing Studio.
We’re posting Nimuno Loops on Indiegogo because we need the capital to get this product off the ground. We have done almost all of the product development ourselves on laptops and in Max’s garage. It’s been a crazy-steep learning curve but we’ve had excellent guidance from mentors and advisors through the Chrome Cherry Design network.
The financial support of Indiegogo contributors will not only reassure us that we’re on the right track, but it will also mean that we can pay the people we know that are really, really good at some of the difficult tasks that lie ahead.
