Daughters of the King was formed in June 2006, and begun by just a few teenage girls meeting together regularly to sing. Over the years, DOTK has performed at many events including festivals, eisteddfods, nursing homes, community fates and fairs, work functions, Christmas Party’s, birthdays, and weddings. Some of their performance highlights include placing first at the Dandenong Festival of Music and Art for Youth in 2007, Mordiallic Eisteddfod in 2007, the Inaugural South Eastern Arts Festival in 2010, and West Gippsland Eisteddfod in 2013, 2014 and 2016. They were also awarded the perpetual trophy for the ‘Most Promising Choir’ at the West Gippsland Eisteddfod in 2013 and 2014.
They sing a variety of music in a variety of styles including contemporary, jazz, gospel, folk songs, traditional, songs in foreign languages and musical theatre.
Their primary goal is to use their God-given gift of singing and music to bless others. This year, we want to take this a step further by recording our very first album.
All of the funds raised through this campaign will go towards recording our songs in a local studio as well as editing and producing the album itself.
Approx 5 days in studio recording: $2,000
The remaining $500 will go towards Pozible fees as well as album and production costs.
As a non-for profit group, the biggest challenge we face in doing this is financial. We would love for you to partner with us and support in this journey to help us continue to bless people with our music.
