A loan of $1,650 helps to buy a camera for her work to enhance her work and earn more income; thus, she will be able to provide herself with all the things she needs.

Basma’s story

Basma, who appears in the photo, is a 21-year-old from Jericho, West Bank. She is a single girl, who lives with her family in a simple house. Her father works in farming, where he earns a low income. This income is barely enough for basic needs.

Basma works in photography in her spare time. She is also a student at the local university. She studies media and she is an excellent student. Basma went to Palestine for Credit and Development (FATEN) to take out a US dollar loan to buy a camera for her work. This will enhance her work and help her earn more income; thus, she will be able to provide herself with all the things she needs. She hopes you will help and fund her loan.

This loan is special because:

It creates opportunity for women 35 and younger.

More about this loan

This loan is helping support a borrower who is 35 or under. Because many young people lack business experience or established credit histories, it can be even more difficult for them to access financial services. By funding this youth loan, you are expanding opportunity for a young person with limited resources.

About Palestine for Credit & Development (FATEN):

Palestinians face unique challenges due to the economic and political environment in the West Bank and Gaza. Click here to learn more about how Kiva and FATEN are working to help Palestinian borrowers overcome these obstacles and how your support can make a difference.
