Community First Responders

Community First Responders need your help to continue our lifesaving work
University of Nottingham Community First Responders
We are a Students’ Union Society of approximately 60 trained volunteers, acting as an additional resource to the East Midlands Ambulance Service. We provide emergency care to real patients in a variety of life threatening situations throughout the area and aim to give our volunteers a chance to have a real impact on the lives of people within our community.
We have helped at nearly 1200 incidents in the area since our inception. At over half of these cases, we provided vital emergency care before the emergency crews arrived. Our emergency care has included attending to:
- 107 Cardiac Arrests
- 302 Medical Emergencies
- 449 Cardiac Complaints
- 292 Unconscious Patients
- 383 Patients with difficulty breathing
- 198 Trips and Falls
But we do this with borrowed equipment!
Your donation will help us to buy two new defibrillators. Without these, we cannot continue our life saving work.
