Vice Chancellors Research Pitch Challenge
Imagine you had 2-minutes to pitch your research to a Vice-Chancellor, Chancellor, senior university representatives, government representatives, industry representatives and other members of the research community? They are busy people with limited time, so you have to quickly deliver a message and efficiently summarise your research, excite them and find that next meeting for future collaboration or funding.
Universities Australia is challenging Australian university researchers to create a video pitch (1-2 minutes) explaining your research – the pitch should be aimed at attracting the interest of Higher-Education leaders across universities, industry, philanthropy & government who will be viewing and voting on the entries to award the winner.
Universities Australia is the peak body representing Australia’s 39 universities. The Higher Education Conference is Universities Australia’s flagship annual event, attracting more than 900 delegates from both within and outside the university sector. It is attended by Vice-Chancellors, Chancellors, eminent scientists and researchers, international education specialists, policy makers, business representatives and the media.
The 9th annual conference is to be held 1–3 March 2017 at the National Convention Centre Canberra with the theme Higher Education: Gen Next. It focuses on the future shape of higher education against a backdrop of profound economic, industrial and technological change.
High quality, internationally-recognised research generates positive returns for the economy, society and government and should be showcased. Applicants will be showcased at the 2017 conference via a ‘digital poster display’, allowing all delegates to view & vote. This will be an opportunity for PhD and early/mid career researchers to showcase their work to higher-education leaders, including vice-chancellors, industry and government ministers.
