Rocafuerte is one of the oldest cantons in the province of Manabí. This place is known for its sweets, which are recognized in the province and throughout the country. This place also suffered great damage in the earthquake last April, from which it is emerging little by little thanks to the work of the people. Here lives Flor, who is 58 years old. Several years ago her beloved husband died, and she did not have children. She lives with family members.
She is a very determined woman who does not let herself be defeated by adversities. Instead, she gathers her forces to keep working hard, since she knows that this is the way for her to get ahead. She has a small snack chip factory, where she makes and sells chips made from green and ripe plantains. She sells them locally and also delivers them to stores in the city. For her, the situation after the earthquake was very difficult because her factory suffered damage, but thanks to the loans, she was able to repair it and continue with her business. For this reason she is very grateful to the people who are helping her with the loans, since this is the only way she knows to cover her business expenses and thus continue earning a living for herself.
This loan is to buy shortening, plantains and other supplies to prepare her chips. Her dream is to continue improving her factory.
