Today’s technology can present some challenging questions for parents. How can we protect our kids from unsuitable content and media on the internet? How can we provide a balance of restriction and freedom that maintains safety?
The Lilu team are parents too. We have kids from toddlers to teenagers so have a real world understanding of the issues this presents. We have created a system where media and applications that you feel are not suitable for your kids are restricted.
Each child can have an individual user profile, so different ages can be catered for with the same hyper easy to use setup screens. This concept of freedom and safety is extended to the internet too.
Lilu can create your own wifi network just for your kids with the following features:
If you’re worried that homework is being left behind for phone time simply create an ‘offline’ time each day for the internet, apps and media to have the peace of mind that this is one distraction you don’t have to fight everyday.
We understand that kids need their own space to explore and develop in an online world and Lilu gives you peace of mind knowing that they are exploring safely.
Lilu’s functionality extends from Wifi to support 3G/4G/LTE networks as well.
Lilu can locally store your movies, photos, music and files in its internal storage or a connected storage. Send your videos and photos from your phone to Lilu directly and free up space for new memories. Access is available from your phone, tablet and PC remotely or through your TV at home. Lilu Family will help you decide who gets to see what on your storage space.

There are also several people, unnamed open source heroes, we collaborate on a daily basis who make the development of Lilu Home just a little easier every day.
We did a lot of research before we actually started building Lilu. From the selection of the best board to choose from, a compact and efficient design to the best possible structure in sync with mobile development, we combined our team efforts to optimize the solution.
We know the heart of any home is the Tv and we centered our efforts into bringing a visual interface to Lilu.
We realized no product in the market offers a complete 360 degree solution to online safety and management:
Communities we live in are becoming more connected than ever and home is more of a hub for family members to unite around a Wi-Fi connection.
Transitioning into this digital community is not always the easiest task. The bigger the family or the more social we are in our communities, the harder it becomes to manage internet and application security.
We realized even though we have different structures setup at in and out of our homes we still couldn’t find the best unified solution and if us techies were having difficulties than what about the not so tech savvy homes?
This realization led us to create Lilu in the hopes of catering our needs and create a platform to leave room for innovative ideas and products to be included in Lilu.
What makes Lilu great is the fact that we are covering Wifi and Mobile Networks. That means you can remotely manage each family member’s internet and app permissions all the time anywhere you might be. Install a Lilu at grandma’s if you want to. We are not worried about family moments taking up storage space on our phones because they are all on Lilu and we can show these moments to eager family elders on Tv anytime and best part is we now have space again on our phones for our favorite game or lifestyle app.
This campaign will let us see if like minded people are having the same problems and if so this will help us bring Lilu into production stage where we can share this great product with others like us.
We believe there are many parents like us facing similar issues and we know that if we create the right community, we can continue developing Lilu to include features solving other issues like minded parents are facing daily.
It is not just a preorder for us, it’s about creating a voice from the noise surrounding the digital world and molding our children’s future accordingly.
We know how to create an innovative and user friendly product and we have done just that for corporate clients all our lives. Now, with your help, we will create the perfect digital companion for parents.
We are working hard to make Lilu a reality and bring our prototypes to the market but mass production of the project while ensuring quality is a hard task to complete. Here are our risks and challenges:
1. Electronics
Our working hardware has to be optimized for mass production and even though the prototypes works great, we have to anticipate for mass production if our campaign is successful. We also need time between the campaign and delivery to make sure our hardware is compliant to the relevant standards for sale (CE for Europe, FCC for America and others).
2. Software
Our coding skills is our best asset and our proprietary operating system runs great on the hardware, yet we still have to optimize the integration of all the features into our hardware. The operating system needs to be in sync with all hardware parts for optimal user experience and the challenge is to integrate in time which we are confident we can do.
The team behind Lilu has extensive knowledge of IT, software, user interface, user experience and project deadlines so we are confident these challenges are just another fun day at the office. If you become a supporter, you will always know about the progress of the project.
Contribution is not always about money and we appreciate if you can share our project with your friends and family if you think they can benefit from such a device or share our project because you think it has that wow effect on you!
Thank you for your support.
Love from all the Lilu Team
