Kariba, who is in her late forties, is a divorcee with six children. One of them is still in school, and the others are grownups. She has been a food vendor for 4 years now. She works from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.
This will be Kariba’s 6th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. Her previous loan, all of which has been paid back successfully, allowed her to buy more kilos of rice, wheat flour, baking powder, cartons of water and coffee for her business to grow. As a result her profit had increased and she used the remaining balance to pay back her loan dues, school fees and food for her family. She applied for this loan to increase her food inventory as a mama lishe vendor.
Kariba will share this loan with her loan group, Bidii, which consists of 4 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
In this group: Kariba, Martha, Hamis, Musa
