Let us recognize the courage of St-Adolphe d’Howard’s Chamber of commerce who stood up in support of their community.
For nearly 4 years the municipality and citizens of St-Adolphe d’Howard have been engaged in a difficult battle, demanding a respectfull and acceptable solution to the high tension line project. Indeed, Hydro-Québec wants to build a high tension line on mountain summits, in front of homes, in front of th village’s public place renowned for it’s exceptionnal panorama.
Hydro-Québec has just offered a 3000.00$ sponsorship to the St-Adolphe Chamber of commerce for the winter triathlon event. The Chamber of commerce displayed courage and integrity by refusing the sponsorship in a gesture of solidarity towards the citizens who have been involved in this difficult battle. Today, in their turn, the citizens wish to thank the Chamber of commerce who stood ground and hope to collect this sum and return it to the Chamber of commerce.
In a society where it is often said that money rules the world, let us applaud those who have showed that fortunately heart and honor bring people together.
Let us applaud those who take a stand for the community. This sport event can still benefit from funding. All contibutions will be transfered except for the following :
– Printing of the posters— 10$/per copie
– Construction and installation of the Honor Roll —150$
– Ulule commission— 5% of collected amount
– Transaction costs— 3% of collected amount
The Chamber of commerce will still be able to benefit of a sponsorship in the winter triathlon project. Together we stand stonger ! All excess contributions will be invested in activities to defend the cause.
St-Adolphe d’Howard’s advisory comity , 2016 finalist for the “Prix Action David Suzuki” has been fighting for the preservation of it’s environment and landscapes. These citizens cannot accept that a state society like Hydro-Québec show such a lack of respect for the community.
