Stupid Robot Fighting League – The Web Series is a grass roots ultra low-tech robot fighting show. We are looking to shoot our Pilot.
Hi Kickstarter my name is John Espin, the creator of Stupid Robot Fighting League.
Have a look at our YouTube channel trailer
Stupid Robot Fighting League is a fun crazy team sport where you make a robot from junk in 2 hours and fight another team that has done the same.
The twist is….
There are no robotics!

We have gone ultra low tech. The robots are controlled with poles attached to the head, hands and feet of the robot.
This means that anyone that can operate a drill and twist some wire can participate.

We are looking to record our first pilot episode. We have a plan laid out and it’s hilarious.
Have a look at one of our fight videos. This is the most important part of the show. There is however the robot builds, drama, skullduggery and silliness that is yet to be introduced.
If you are interested in the format of the full show watch this. It’s long and pretty dry but is a good outline of what to expect.
We have two gopros available and phones. We just need one more camera that’s a good all rounder that we can stick on a tripod and zoom and move.
We have managed to get a fair amount of media exposure here in the Bay of plenty area. We’ve been in print on 4 news papers, one front page story and two small radio mentions.
The YouTube channel has continued to grow. Jukin media has given us a deal for the rights to one of our videos. This was a bit exciting for us as Jukin is the largest media company that deals in viral videos.
I’ve put a heap of work into the proof of concept and there are lots of videos on YouTube to prove it.
I’m excited about the future of Stupid Robot Fighting League and I hope you are too. Please check out the pledge and rewards.
Thanks so much for stopping by and thanks so much for supporting Stupid Robot Fighting League.
The risks are:
No one gets how awesome this is and I could be left twiddling my thumbs.
We could get burgled and someone steals my camera.
Please note our outlay of expense is very small. This is intentional. We want to start this at grass roots so it will be propped up by the strength of the idea, not our prowess of marketing and hype.
The challenges are:
Getting people to understand how super fun it is to smash another robot in the face.
