Born in a poor house, Minh, 35, is a Kho Mu ethnic woman who had to stop studying after finishing grade 5. She has been engaged in farming for many years. She is married and lives with a big family including her parents-in-law, her spouse and her two daughters and her son in poor village of Dien Bien. Most of the income of her big family relies on agricultural production which is very low and sometimes is not enough to cover the living expenses of her whole family as well as to pay tuition for her three children who are attending school.
That is the reason why the government recognized her family as a poor family in this village. However, to keep her family moving forward and get out of poverty, Minh and her husband are making great efforts to develop their farming. They do this through asking the support from Anh Chi Em program for both finance and technical trainings. She has repaid successfully 3 loans from Anh Chi Em program.
This time, she has taken a loan from this program to build her pigsty to breed more pigs. She hopes that with new pigsty, her pigs will grow faster and healthier than before and be protected against diseases.
She dreams that her family will have abundant life and always be filled with warmth and happiness.
She is the woman standing first on the right in the picture with all her villagers.
