High performance women’s skis and snowboards
Coalition Snow specializes in high-performance skis and snowboards designed by women, for women.
You’ve got skills. Coalition Snow builds gear that amplifies your strengths instead of compensating for perceived weaknesses — the design rationale behind the many shortened, softened, flower-embellished versions of men’s gear that have become all too prevalent in the wide world of snow sports.
Inspired by women who push the limits both on and off the hill, we’re upending the status quo while delivering unmatched performance to women’s specific skis and snowboards.
Coalition Snow is igniting a revolution of female skiers and riders across the globe, and we’re inviting you to join us for the ride.
There’s a pretty good reason why a lot of women hitting the slopes are quick to opt for men’s skis over women’s — and the word of the day is performance.
Whether you’re an intermediate rider or an expert backcountry shredder, chances are you’ve already experienced the shortcomings that have plagued women’s skis and snowboards since companies first tried their hand at designing products aimed specifically at women.
Roll out the usual suspects: Suboptimal gear that’s too short, lacks performance, and stifles advancement. It simply doesn’t stack up to the expectations and abilities of more advanced female skiers and riders, and it hinders the advancement of beginners and intermediates.
The main reason for the shortage of high-performance gear for women? It should come as little surprise, but the industry has long been male-dominated. As such, the focus — from product design to marketing — has been heavily slanted toward the male sensibility.
While others have attempted to navigate the complexities of the fast-growing women’s market, their default approach to catering to female customers is to “shrink and pink” their existing product lines. And it turns out that model has fallen on its face.
But here’s the thing, ladies. Your gear doesn’t have to suck!
Let’s quickly shed some light on what Coalition Snow isn’t doing.
We’re not creating skis and boards built for a woman’s anatomy. We’re creating gear for rippers, for the legions of women who go hard on the mountain. Because when it comes down to it, that’s by far the biggest piece that’s been missing from the industry puzzle.
While the standard shorter, softer women’s-specific gear might be great for some beginners — allowing them to turn and stay on edge more easily — they just don’t stand up to the abilities of more advanced riders.
At the same time, beginners who want to get better require gear that will support their progression. Ever wonder why you can’t seem to pick up speed? Or why you can’t keep your skis from chattering incessantly? The answer is right beneath your feet!
At Coalition Snow, our skis and boards are built for performance through and through. Our proprietary designs, unique construction, and bold graphics solve the pain points that both amateurs and professional athletes alike have been expressing for years.
Our team has chalked up decades of experience on the mountain, so we intimately understand exactly what our fellow female riders have been seeking — and we’re pleased to announce that we’re answering the call.
Coalition Snow has gained some incredible traction in our mission to completely overturn assumptions about what women’s skis and snowboards can be and do. Here’s a quick overview of some of our biggest achievements to date.
We’ve Got The Product We’ve already prototyped, tested, and brought three product lines to market including five skis and two snowboards based on what women told us they wanted. We’ve sold two of these lines direct-to-consumer with zero warranty issues or returns and we launched our third product line in September 2016.
We’ve Got The Customers After raising $31K in 31 days on Kickstarter and raking in $64K from our first two product line launches with a 647% increase in customers between the first and second launches, we’ve proven this is a product that people want. Our third line made its public debut through our website and in REI — the nation’s largest outdoor retailer — in three of their stores and through their online marketplace.
We’re Endorsed By The Athletic Community We were directly approached by Roz Groenewoud, one of the leading freestyle skiers in the world who competed at the Olympics and X-Games, with whom we secured a two-year Athlete Endorsement contract.
We’ve Locked Down Manufacturing & Distribution Our Tokyo-based manufacturer has over 60 years’ experience in ski and snowboard manufacturing. We are also working with a factory outside of Seattle for our limited edition skis. They have been manufacturing skis for over a decade.
We’ve Got Style We took our head-turning designs and applied them to a line of leggings that sold out last year. Our bold prints attract a broader audience who may not be in the market for equipment and are part of our plan to overcome the seasonality of the snow sports industry.
