Stefanus’s story

Stefanus has been selling water filters for some years now. The people in his area (western Borneo) like the filters because they provide safe drinking water without the need for boiling.
Stefanus reports that sales are increasing. “We have been doing a lot of promotion in villages all over West Borneo. Because of that we got more sales agents. The overall response we get is very positive, even though there are sometimes people that do not trust the filters. However that makes us only work harder to convince them.
With this loan, Stefanus can purchase around 300 filters that he will sell on through his growing network of agents.

This loan is special because:

It helps get water filters to remote communities.

About Nazava Water Filters:

Nazava Water Filters is a for-profit social enterprise that sells affordable and safe household water filters in Indonesia. Kiva loans will enable resellers to purchase more goods at one time so that they can scale faster and save on shipping costs. This lowers filter prices for end users and optimizes income for resellers, who receive loans at 0% interest and can choose whether to repay on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly basis.

Nazava Water Filters joined Kiva through our Experimental Partnership Program, and has therefore received a lighter level of due diligence. Accordingly, loans associated with this partner carry a higher level of risk than typical Kiva loans.

A loan of $3,650 helps purchasing water filters to continue providing safe drinking water on Borneo.
