Prodigi Kids, Inc.
My name is Karen Braveheart, and I’m the CEO and Founder of Prodigi Kids. Prodigi Kids is a socially conscious, kids/consumer product startup. I am launching our 1st product called Adi – the Stay-Put Plate. I’m originally from New York City and have lived in San Diego now with my 3 kids for 11 years. Before becoming an entrepreneur, I had a successful career in retail sales and as an attorney. I earned my B.A. degree in English from Rutgers University and my J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law. I practiced law in New York for 10 years prior to moving to San Diego and learned the ins and outs of running a successful business. I am a designer at heart and the idea for Adi came to me when my daughter was 18 months old. Every parent of a young child knows that when it comes to eating with a toddler, mealtime can be a total disaster. While dining out one day, she pulled a self-adhesive placemat full of food off the table and hurled it in the air like frisbee. Food went flying everywhere and landed on a man seated at the table behind us. There were peas stuck in his hair, meatballs on his head, and his nice white dress shirt was covered with spaghetti and red sauce. In that moment, the idea for Adi was born. Adi, the Stay-Put Plate is about so much more than the perfect mealtime solution. It’s about giving a parent or caregiver a peaceful experience with their child. Parenting is tough enough. Think of a world where great product design removes the stressful obstacles to parenting and allow parents to focus on what matters most: creating moments of love and connection between parent and child at mealtime. With your help we can make a lasting change possible for families every day. Prodigi Kids is needed now as much as ever.

More about this loan
Prodigi Kids is based in San Diego and has been featured on Fox 5 News, Entrepreneur, San Diego Union Tribune, and Channel 6 News. Our focus is on giving parents amazing products to help make their life easier allowing them to enjoy more loving moments of connection with their children. Adi, the Stay-Put Plate is our 1st product.
After the idea for Adi came about, our journey started with the creation of our 1st prototype by engineering students at a local University. The semester project culminated in a showcase where I competed against Fortune 500 companies making the latest tech and medical devices. And, that’s when magic happened. There were more people around our table wanting to buy my plate than all of the other tables combined. People were opening their wallets to buy our early stage, rudimentary prototype. That’s how we knew we were onto something great. After that, Adi went on to win an award for Best New Invention and secured a design patent as well.
Our target market for Adi plate is kids ages 5+ months- 3 years, and our target customers are moms with young children. To date, we’ve presold 555 plates and need to deliver this great product to these customers. To accomplish this, we are raising money to help fund manufacturing and market entry.
The biggest challenge so far has been getting the money we need to pay for the costs of manufacturing. We’ve built out an amazing team, including our manufacturing partner in Oakland, CA, and have brought this project as far as we can. With the capital raised, we will be able pay for the plastic injection molds and get our 1st units of shippable product made. This will be a major milestone for our company to achieve.
Our future goal is to scale to profitability. This will be accomplished with increased revenue streams through more customer acquisition both online and in brick and mortar stores as well as product expansion.
We are 100% committed to this project. Thank you.
