Confiance Group’s story
Chantale, the client, is a female leader. She sells spices. She is 33 years old and is a mother of 10 children who are all studying. Her partner is also a small businessman.
She began her business with the financial help of her partner. Later she decided to join Hekima’s microfinance programme in support of small businesses.
This new loan will allow her to buy 15kg of tomatoes, vegetables, peppers, nutmeg, spinach etc. The rest of the money will be used to pay for transport from where she buys her goods.
She thanks Hekima and all its partners for their support to financing clients who do not have access to banks.

HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.
