Reinventing Interior Design with Color, Light and Motion
Lellan has developed a novel interactive, artistic lighting system that is disrupting the architectural and interior design markets. Using our DigitalCanvas, designers, business owners and luxury home owners can create unique and engaging interiors featuring stunning visuals, dynamic color and mesmerizing motion. Through the power of color, light and motion, the DigitalCanvas enables businesses and individuals to fashion inviting environments, to engage and entertain customers and guests, to project a specific brand or personality and to express their creativity.
By tightly integrating the latest IoT, web and lighting technologies, Lellan makes it easy and cost-effective for a wide variety of businesses and other entities to upgrade their interior space and infuse their environments with rich interactive color, light and motion – resulting in the most unique and memorable experiences.
Until now, creating engaging interactive environments has been a complex and expensive undertaking requiring the use of many products and highly skilled professionals – best reserved for teams of experts in theatre lighting design and high-end projects.
The Lellan DigitalCanvas™ is a fully integrated, turn-key hardware and software system that is easy to install and operate. We have engineered and manufactured the system from the ground up working closely with customers and industry experts.
Our technology is being widely accepted in the lighting and design communities due to our versatile platform and fully integrated system which allows for cloud connectivity and the creation of a community group of users. The Lellan community will bring together designers, owners, content developers and others to share capabilities, ideas and best practices in addition to the ability to market their own designs – a revolutionary approach in the lighting arena.
The flexible and modular DigitalCanvas consists of: a) lighting elements, b) power distribution, c) a wireless controller and d) customizable content and interactivity.
Our initial lighting element, the SmartTile, is a one foot square panel that emits full-color light from each of 36 independent cells. Multiple SmartTiles can be arranged in any pattern you choose to create a “light canvas” on surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, shelves or tables. The ‘brains’ of the system is the SmartHub, a flexible wireless and web-enabled controller that sends out the patterns of color to be displayed by the SmartTiles at up to 20 frames per second. The SmartHub also enables interactive input such as sound, motion sensing or responding to inputs from the web. Power to the whole system is provided by a PowerBox.
The DigitalCanvas is a flexible and extendable platform. Its real power comes from modular hardware coupled with software-enabled interactivity and customization. Customers can arrange from 1 to thousands or more SmartTiles into a infinite variety of configurations. The patterns of color, light and motion on these configurations is fully customizable. And the SmartHub is an extensible system designed to support future Lellan, as well as third-party, lighting and sensing hardware products. In short, the power of the DigitalCanvas to create dynamic, engaging, exciting interior environments is limited only by the creativity of the designer.
Examples include abstract art on the wall of a hotel lobby that is continuing in motion, a glass stairwell with a lighting scene that changes in response to people walking up or down, or a retail store that uses the DigitialCanvas to reinforce the seasonal design elements, color and branding throughout their store. Further applications of the DigitalCanvas can be:
⁃Branding for Retail/Corporations ⁃Restaurants & Bars ⁃Hospitality & Hotel Lobbies ⁃Corporate Entrance ⁃High End Homes ⁃Public Art ⁃Shopping Mall and Fashion Retail ⁃Showrooms ⁃Tradeshow Booths ⁃other
The Lellan system is much more than just an idea — we have a fully functional product including FCC and UL certification, filed utility patents and a first mass production run completed by our contract manufacturer in China.
Our initial target markets are commercial projects in the hospitality (hotels, bars, restaurants), fashion retail, and commercial real-estate (i.e., public lobbies) industries. Our sales channel leverages an independent rep network, national accounts, stocking distributors and high end showrooms to reach the design and build community. In parallel, we are seeding the initial sales pipeline through direct engagement, tradeshows and reaching out to designers, artists and the owners of businesses.
