Wetzel Engineering provides services through a team of employees, consultants and subcontractors, several of whom each individually possess decades of experience in the design, fabrication, testing, and certification of structural, mechanical, electrical, and aerodynamic systems. Our level of experience and proven software allows us to increase wind turbine efficiency and effectiveness by creating a customized solution and the use of the carbon fiber material.
Our focus is on the Blades and Tower components of the wind turbine, with a utility scale between 750kW to 10MW (25m to >100m blade length). We will be selling to manufacturing companies who outsource 100% of their designs: Goldwind, Sinovel, Repower, Acciona
18 Years experience Engineering wind turbines. Developed the wind turbine that is now the GE1.5. Blade Engineering for 30+ companies. Patented Swept Blade Technology Dr. Wetzel is an internationally recognized expert on wind turbine system and rotor blade engineering. At Enron he headed the team that developed the American version of what is now GE’s 1.5MW turbine. He ran an internal Wetzel Engineering project that fully engineered a state-of-the-art 6kW turbine, and he has been involved as a consultant in the engineering and systems analysis of numerous turbines from 1kW to 10MW, including system design, loads and performance simulations, drivetrain engineering, tower engineering, etc. Nearly 20,000 wind turbine blades are operating throughout the world to which Wetzel has significantly contributed to the design or the technology development. Clients have included GE, General Dynamics, Suzlon, DeWind, Sinoma, Molded Fiberglass Companies (MFG), Zoltek, MAG Cincinnati, Northern Powe
