Founded in 2009, Wantsum Brewery has won numerous national and regional awards for its craft ales. Led by a Managing Director with experience at Greene King, one of the UK’s largest pub and brewers, the business has grown year-on-year and is now raising finance to expand significantly.
- Raising funds to move site and expand brewery plant
- Looking to explore new opportunities such as export, retail & brewpubs
- Aiming to drive down margins through economies of scale
- Founder James combined his background in science to the art of brewing
We are a craft brewery, producing largely cask ales and looking to increase our UK trade with additional lines such as canning, key keg and craft keg lager, along with developing our bottle sales and export sales.
We hold the National silver award for Black Prince Mild, and recently won the SIBA Regional Gold Medal for Montgomery in the prestigious Best Bitter Category (thus making us finalists for the National award next year).
Over the years our style of beers has evolved, yet we still maintain a permanent range that includes a spectrum from Stout and Mild across to Pale Ale and Lager. With a desire to grow a family business, Simon (James’ son) joined the Company in 2013 and is now the Head Brewer, and we believe his passion for American beer styles has brought a new dimension into the range.
The business has grown year on year, however, we require a significant expansion in our brewing plant to maintain and explore new areas such as cans and key kegs plus the opportunities of export, retail (Wantsum Alehouses) and Brewpubs.
