Llani | shoes that feel like home is partnership between a shoe designer & the artistic makers she has met while working in India
Llani | shoes that feel like home is a globally-inspired shoe collection, and is the result of a partnership between a seasoned shoe designer and a coterie of immensely talented artisans & craftsmen she has met while working in India. “Llani” is the designer’s childhood nickname.Llani slippers, flats, and slides are hand-crafted with a touch of luxurious coziness that takes the edge off your day.
From Alana, the creator…
Our philosophy:
“I wanted to create a brand for a fiercely independent woman, a bold-spirited creative like myself. The women in my life inspire me with their ambition and taste for the elegant things in life. Although she may be always on the go — gracefully balancing family, friends, and career — a sense of feeling at home is important to her. Our slippers, flats, and slides give her that comfort of home, from anywhere — at her desk, on the plane, or running to the florist…”
Craftsmanship:
Llani | shoes that feel like home are made with our design and production partners in Delhi and Agra, India. The factory we work with is family-owned and female-founded. The founder’s daughter now runs it along with a trading company that she owns with her father. We take great care to work with only high-quality materials such as leather, suede, and genuine shearling. We maintain close working relationships with our vendors. Our embellishments — beading, trims, and motifs — are also delicately created by hand. Due to the handcrafted nature of our product, every shoe in the line is one of a kind.
A note from Alana:

THANK YOU in advance for your support!!
Being able to work hands-on in the factories and with the makers is essential. Without being able to make an annual trip to india to source trims and innovate alongside the craftsmen making the shoes, development is challenging. It also adds to our lead time because of time differences. It often takes a few rounds of conversations to come to an understanding about a new idea. Travel to India is required and offers a challenge to find the money in our budget.
Unforeseen shipping costs, taxes, and penalties. Often goods from overseas can get stuck in customs which can potentially create delivery slide and penalties from stockists. Shoe are taxed with duty fees that can sometimes be upwards of 20% of the total cost of the shoe.
