LIGHTBULB STUDIOS, A STARTUP GAME COMPANY
Welcome to Lightbulb Studios.
My name is Viet-Anh Tran, I’m 15 years old and I created this ‘company’ called Lightbulb Studios, which is consist of me and the home that I live in. I am working on my first game called Company Corporations, which is a Management/Tycoon/Simulation game, with the help of freelancers since Game Development is very new to me and I really don’t have the programming skills that would allow me to make a game like this. I am more of a leader, as some people would say.
I started this company because I was inspired by an indie game called Game Dev Tycoon. The game says it all, it’s a tycoon game where you can make best seller games and gain revenue from. I played it for several days and I loved it. And then it made me wonder, what is it like to start up a gaming company? And having the feeling of creating best seller games in Game Dev Tycoon makes me wonder even more. So, that’s why I wanted to start this company, so I can explore what it’s like in the gaming industry.
I am currently doing my GCSE’s and afterwards probably going to Six-Form and doing A-Levels. Even though I wasn’t that of a genius in my Primary School, I try to achieve the best of my ability or as I like to quote to myself every day – “Devotion is Unlimited, unless you limit it Yourself.”
Even though I’m doing my GCSE’s and knowing that my education is really important, I am still devoted to creating and make this company become successful until the very end. I want to leave a legacy so that when young people like me who wants to start up a company, they can always look at what I had to go through and they can get inspired. That’s what I want to do, to help and inspire people.
The reason why I came here is because of two things, Funding and Getting Started.
First thing, Funding. At the moment, I don’t have the funding to be able to even develop a game. At the moment, I want to be able to get the people needed to create my game and get it released on Steam. But, it’s proven to be rather difficult because of the lack of funding needed to provide the money that will cover the freelancers who are sure to make an excellent game.
The second thing is Getting Started in the gaming industry. This is my first time being in the gaming industry and even though I have clues of how it works, I am still inexperienced. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the gaming company or have any tips and tricks that you want to share, please tell me. I would love to read it and write notes to make sure I know that this is what I have to do.
If you like to ask any questions feel free to email me ataceplexgames@gmail.com and I will try to answer your questions as best as I can. If I don’t reply immediately, then I will reply within the next 24 Hours.
But for now, have a good day everyone!
