Port- Creceremos Juntos Group’s story

Alina, like 11 other people who need a loan to help them improve their businesses, formed this credit group. With it, they hope to get ahead for the good of their families. She is 49 years old, a single mother, and the mother of 1 child who is 16 years old and in high school. They live in Portoviejo, a place that was very affected by a recent earthquake which left a lot of destruction in its wake. Alina is a very hardworking woman who doesn’t let herself be defeated by adversities. She tries to get ahead for the good of her family. She has a locale that she rents in a gas station in the city. She sells staple products, beverages, ice cream, snacks, oils, and lubricants for vehicles. She also has a small bar there where people who pass through buy food that she prepares with a lot of love. With it, she always gains more customers, which allows her to earn a living for her and her son, because she is both father and mother. This loan is to stock her business. This is her first cycle in the credit group and she hopes to continue for a long time. Her dream is to have her own locale so that she doesn’t have to pay rent.
