Each 1 Stitch 1
Fashion has been a part of me since the time I was a child. I learned to sew at the age of 9 and it is how I have always supported myself. I paid my way through college by sewing. I lived a very colorful and exciting life doing wardrobe work and costume design for film, television and theater in NYC. In 2007, I moved from NYC to upstate NY with a desire to do my part to restore the manufacturing base to the United States. I have been working toward that goal, one stitch at a time and am passionate about fostering creativity, supporting small business and doing my part to make this world a better place.

More about this loan
I opened Each 1 Stitch 1 in 2011 as an offshoot of my design business. In the few years it has been in existence, growth has been cyclical but we have consistently made a difference in the Rochester community by teaching sewing to inner city youth and by supporting other small businesses through collaboration on various projects.
As my profile in the arts community has increased, so have the opportunities that have come my way. I feel as if the universe has finally put me into the place for which I was destined. I have a unique opportunity to tie together everything that I do by opening a garment manufacturing factory that will include job training for adults, classes for youth and collaboration between emerging fashion designers nationwide It is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the community.
What is the purpose of this loan?
Each 1 Stitch 1 has a unique opportunity to obtain a building within the Rochester city limits that will house a one-of-a-kind creative space.
