PharoSys’ mission is to provide retailer-agnostic, consumer-friendly software and services for mobile devices receiving Beacon broadcast messages. PharoSys’ key application, PharosPM, will manage Beacon messages from any Beacon transmitter.

PharoSys will sell only one product to consumer customers–a mobile phone/tablet application that will manage Beacon transmissions. Our plan is to educate consumers of the need for a single application vs. hundreds of applications from various retailers that plan to use Beacon technology to promote themselves while consumers are in or near their stores. Additionally, if consumers use individual retailer apps, rather than using a single app like PharosPM, there will be less control over what and when they are notified about Beacon promotions.

The PharoSys app will enable consumers to filter Beacon broadcasts to deliver what they want to receive, and when they want to receive it. These filters will be based on product/service categories, as well as other attributes that consumers may want to use as filters. We anticipate the filtering process to evolve over time, based on customer feedback. Ultimately, we want to provide the consumer with as much control as possible, but still ensure that the Beacon medium is valuable to the retail vendors.

PharoSys will also sell registration subscriptions to companies/retailers that partner with PharoSys to embrace the single-mobile-app paradigm for Beacon communication. Ultimately, this subscription fee will be much less expensive for retail partners than designing, developing, and maintaining their own Beacon communication apps.

The pharosPM consumer smartphone app will integrate directly with the retailer’s IT resources. The retailer will have the option of integrating with either their own on-premise internal website, or their public website. Integration with POS Systems will be available as well, but this type of integration will require custom development work. The custom development can be implemented by either third-party integrators, or the retailer’s own IT department.

pharosPremium

In addition to the pharosPM mobile application, we will be selling additional premium subscription services to consumers who already own the pharosPM mobile app, including:

An omni-device preferences manager, where consumers will setup their website and beacon preferences on a single device, and those preferences will be automatically propagated to all of their devices and laptop/desktop computers.

Additional filtering options–the “basic” version of PharosPM will have limited filtering choices.

Promotional messaging options directly from the vendor to the consumer, using the PharosPM application. This should significantly reduce retailer email spamming to consumers, and provide a much more personalized experience for the consumer.

Many more to come . . .
