Art-Exchange owns Timothy’s Fine Art and plans to complete an e-business model similar to Auto Trader serving the sell side and buy sides of the fine art market with an emphasis on the commercial buyer.
Art-Exchange intends to deliver an exchange to the fine art market via a model similar to Auto Trader. Dealers list available art inventory and access other dealer’s inventory to complete more transactions with existing customer base. Customer is better served. Model enables both the dealers and retail buyers and sellers.
500,000 working artists in US create 6,000,000 new works per year which they want and need to sell. Art-Exchange has 10,000 customer in this segment who have paid to list 100,000 pieces. In 2004 we began an Artist Development Program to prepare artists to succeed.
Art-Exchange acquired Timothy’s Fine Art in August 2007. Timothy’s is a 24-year old wall decor manufacturer with a distribution channel and customer base synergistic with Art-Exchange
Richard A. Gipe-Chief Executive Officer and President Art-Exchange and Timothy’s- Mr. Gipe holds a BA from Ambassador College. After earning his degree in 1970, Mr. Gipe worked for a brief time as a journalist. His sales career began in 1978 will Bell and Howell’s Education Division. Subsequent to his efforts with Bell and Howell, he entered the securities field. From 1980 to 1990, Mr. Gipe owned and operated an NASD Broker-Dealer through which he raised capital for both private and public companies. Mr. Gipe held multiple securities licenses. During his career in investment banking, Mr. Gipe was involved in Initial Public Offerings for fourteen companies. He continued with merger and acquisition work through 1993.
Mrs. Gipe is responsible for the day-to-day sales and marketing tasks of Timothy’s Fine Art. Mrs. Gipe also represents approximately 500 retail and wholesale clients of Art-Exchange. Mrs. Gipe’s duties include managing the approximately 60 Reps for the Timothy’s Line; designing new product; overseeing the marketing efforts for Timothy’s. Customer Care for Timothy’s reports to Mrs. Gipe. Lori Elizabeth Gipe is the wife of Richard Gipe.
From 2002-2004 and from 2006 to 2008 Mr. Berkson worked for Vacation Tour and Travel A leading provider of quality leisure and vacation experiences and services. Mr. Berkson served VTT as Vice President of Business Management and Human Resources. From 2004-2006 Mr. Berkson worked for MiraLink Corporation in Portland, OR, an organization specializing in the delivery of remote disaster recovery solutions. Mr. Berkson served as Vice President of Operations, directing all operations initiatives at this start-up organization. For Art-Exchange Howard is tasked with building an existing sales force of 15 to a sales force of approximately 60 implementing new systems across the platform.
