With full support and cooperation of the filmmakers, Stephen Clark has been operating what has over time become the official Back to the Future™ website. This site is now the primary source for information about the Back to the Future™Trilogy and related information, including announcements about events and new projects involving the cast and/or filmmakers, screenings, charity events, tie-ins, DeLorean conventions, new products, and rumor control, as well as an outlet for officially-licensed merchandise.
Since its inception in 1995, BacktotheFuture.com has been a big proponent of the careers and activities of the trilogy’s cast. Ever since Michael J. Fox announced the formation of his eponymous foundation in 2000, we’ve supported innumerable events and activities as a silent supporter behind-the-scenes to help fund donations towards finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. We’re now stepping out from behind the curtain asking you to buy a really cool toy, allowing us help us raise funds for this incredibly worthy cause.
Your support will allow us to raise more than $8,000.00 that will go directly to theMichael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease in an effort to create a future without Parkinson’s!
The NeoLev Back to the Future™ 1:8 Scale Hoverboard with 8″ Half Pipe Base operates on the principle of magnetic repulsion. A clear acrylic base contains an anisotropic rubber magnet (aka, “track”) which creates a repulsive force against the embedded anisotropic magnets in the board allowing for levitation at an impressive height proportional to that depicted in the movie. The 3¼” ABS plastic long board (fingerboard) hovers at ½”! The track has a slight bend akin to a half pipe allowing the board to move forward and aft along with unique recoil characteristics when pressed down. Wheels not included.
Sporting laser-engraved signatures of actor Michael J. Fox, as well as filmmakersBob Gale (co-creator/producer) and Robert Zemeckis (co-creator and director). 10% of each unit sold goes directly to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, and is strictly limited to 2,015 individually-numbered units available exclusively from BacktotheFuture.com.
Details include accurate and durable vinyl decal placed on Marty McFly’s pink board, optimal magnet geometry for maximum levitation, and optional glow-in-the-dark undercarriage decal for night hovering!
