Hyperion Bank is a retail and commercial bank located in the promising Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. We opened for business in 2006 and are located at 199 W. Girard Avenue in a beautiful building that was given new life through an award-winning historic restoration project.

Hyperion Bank is an FDIC insured institution that was formed in 2006 and was issued its state charter form the Pennsylvania Department of Banking that same year. The Bank offers both traditional and niche consumer and commercial banking services.
Traditional banking services:
Hyperion offers consumer and commercial deposit accounts depending on the customer’s needs. Customers can enjoy traditional savings, money market, holiday/vacation savings, interest bearing checking and free checking accounts.
Hyperion offers a variety of loan solutions including construction loans, commercial real estate, personal mortgages, home equity lines of credit and consumer loans. Other services include online banking, merchant credit card processing and remote deposit capture.
Hyperion has been successful in offering specific banking services, which have a high return on investment. These include highly profitable mortgage originations and SBA guaranteed loans.
President Executive Officer
Louis J. DeCesare, jr.
Louis J. DeCesare, Jr. was hired by the Bank as our President and Chief Executive Officer and elected to the Board of Directors in October, 2013 upon the retirement of our previous President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. DeCesare has over 30 years of experience as a commercial banker in the Philadelphia region, having served as a bank President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Lending Officer and Chief Credit Officer at various points in his career. Prior to his to joining the Bank, Mr. DeCesare served from 2008-2013 as Executive Vice President of VIST Bank in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and from 2001-2008 at Republic First Bancorp in Philadelphia where he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. DeCesare received his B.S. and M.B.A. from LaSalle University.

Steven B. Atlass, Chairman of the Board –
Mr. Atlass is an investor, entrepreneur, and turnaround expert who purchases financially distressed businesses and real estate properties, restructuring them to drive improved profitability. He has been a Director of Hyperion Bank since 2006. From 2006 to 2010, and since September 2013, Mr. Atlass has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Atlass is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute and has been Chairman/Vice-Chairman and Member of the Abramson Cancer Center Development Council at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Mr. Atlass has a B.S. from Elmira College, has two children, and has also been a pilot since 1972 with a commercial rating.
