Hi, my name is Ana Garcia and I am from Vera Cruz, Mexico near Acapulco. I came to the United States when I was 17 years old. My family was very poor and they sent me here after I was abused by a man in my community. I came to Los Angeles, CA and made money recycling cans until I could get on my feet. I got married when I was 21, and we raised three young boys that are now in their late teens.
I moved to Oakland about 15 years ago. I worked various jobs with small event planning companies. Around the same time I also opened a day care center for young children. I continued taking care of children when I moved my business from Los Angeles to Oakland.

Ana’s Daycare is a small daycare center that assists up to six small children at a time. I operate it out of my home and the children I care for are from the ages of two to seven years old. I feed them breakfast and lunch and provide various activities and learning opportunities for the children five days a week. I love children and it is my mission to nurture them through the early stage development process in life.
