My name is Blanca Escobar and I am from Ahuachapan, El Salvador near the border of Guatemala. Ahuachapan is a very small village with maybe 5,000 people. I came from a large family with four brothers and three sisters. My parents sold fruits and vegetables in the marketplace to take care of our poor family.
I emigrated to the United States when I was 23 and married shortly thereafter. I had two daughters with my husband. I had some immigration issues that surfaced a couple of years later and I was briefly deported and my husband left with my daughter Starlit and I have been searching for my daughter ever since.
