Hi there! I grew up in Chicago and Tampa. I love working…..I like relaxing and traveling too but when I have meaningful work I enjoy it. I started babysitting when I was 12 and worked in hospitality to buy my first car then support myself through college. I joined the Army Reserves at 20 and since then have been traveling around the world. I worked in finance for 7 years before opening my own yoga studio.
I like to work but I also love to enjoy life. My dream is to retire by the time I’m 40 so I can travel, relax, and only pursue business opportunities that help others. I’m grateful to my husband and my 2 dogs who have kept me grounded on the tough days of being an entrepreneur.

Green Locus Yoga has been opened for about 3 years now and we offer yoga classes in the Westchase community in Tampa, Florida. Our customers are typically in our surrounding area but we also have teacher trainings that bring people in from around the state.
We are expanding and relocating but paying the same for rent in a bigger spot! 🙂 With the expansion, we will have more space for our growing classes and increase services such as private yoga sessions which we don’t have space for right now. We also want to share the space with other health and wellness practitioners.
I am most proud of having a business that survived and thrived. I’m ready to take it to the next level.
What is the purpose of this loan?
My current lease is up and we are expanding into a new and better priced space with better exposure. While our rent will be the same and even be waived for a few months we need some initial help moving. The money will be spent on paying our deposit and some minor renovation. Additionally, we would like to do a small marketing campaign and ramp up our inventory in the new space.
This loan will help us move into larger space to accommodate more students and expand our private yoga classes which we get requests for but cannot accommodate due to our space. We will have the ability to get more referrals and income from renting out extra space for other wellness professionals. While we are asking for a 36 month period, we are hoping to pay the loan back within a year for the increased revenues and decreased expenses.
This move will be a game changer for my business and my family. Beginners mistake: I had a bad location and an overpriced lease (almost double what the comps are) with excess CAM charges every year. This move will be able to take my business from breaking evening or making a small profit against bad odd to being able to support myself and hire more people. We’ll also be able to help more students with more exposure. Since we’ve opened, we’ve had people tell us health problems have began to ease or disappear, stress levels decrease, depression fade, and they love the community they can come to everyday.
