Jeff Bergart, WWBE’s CFO, is a CPA who has served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance at many technology-focused companies, large ($300M+) and small ($20M+). He is an out-of-the-box creative thinker who is experienced in working with cross-functional and international teams. He has worked at Harvard Bioscience, UltraSource, KROHNE, Digital Equipment Corporation, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jeff is on the audit committee of Massachusetts Easter Seals and two non-profit Board of Directors.
Jeff holds a BS in Applied Math from Brown University, an MSEE in Computer Science from the Univ. of Penn., and an MBA in Finance from Wharton.
Doug’s entrepreneurial career began in 1992, when at the age of 26, he co-founded Publications Resource Group (now Mindbranch) and oversaw all aspects of sales, marketing and business development. The company was positioned as a “One-Stop-Shop” through which top level executives could search and purchase all of their market analysis, market forecasts and consulting services in one easy to use web site. In September 2000, Doug went on to take control of Pioneer Consulting, a boutique consulting firm he co-founded in 1997. The firm specialized in market research, analysis and consulting services for undersea fiber optic, telecom equipment, broadband wireless and satellite companies. In 2004, he began his new career with TissueLink Medical (now Salient Surgical Solutions), a small, privately held medical device company and grew sales each year 133% and 144% respectively. From 2007 through 2011, Doug has helped various start-ups introduce and sell new technologies.
A licensed Cosmetologist and 30-year veteran of the professional salon industry, M. Evan Parker-Calderon holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an expansive background in salon management and operations, product and program development, marketing, sales, and education. Working with leading manufacturers, progressive distributors, and top salons, Evan has developed and launched many of the industry’s most innovative and successful products and programs. As President and CEO of Élan Marketing and Events, Evan specializes in the support of companies operating within the professional salon and spa industry, and his unique experience and insight allows for the creation of highly effective programs and systems guaranteed to take your business to the next level.
Max comes to World Wide Beauty Exchange in a financial advisory capacity. Max’s primary professional roll is at Dyax Corp, a Cambridge based Biotechnology Company where he leads the licensing division. This division has brought in over $20M in annual revenue for each of the 4 years of Max’s tenure with forecasted growth to $75M in annual revenue by 2016. Prior to Joining Dyax, Max was a financial analyst at Vertex Pharmaceuticals where he oversaw the management of the global research finances. He also managed financial relationships with investors and collaborators that included the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. Max has also had roles in a finance capacity at Merck. Before entering the business world, Max was a bench scientist working at a biochemist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Max has an undergraduate degree, with honors, from Bates College double majoring in biology and philosophy. Max has an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College.
Huy brings more than fourteen years of experience in architecting, building, testing, and deploying industry-standard enterprise applications and custom-built software solutions. Huy’s client experience spans from multinational clients to fast-growing organizations in higher education, health care, high technology, energy, and financial services including MIT Alumni Association, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Suffolk University, Ford Motors, Fidelity Investments, CVS and MasterCard. Prior to co-founding Viridian Spark, Huy was the Director of Application Development at BigBad Inc. During this time, Huy guided clients large and small through all stages of the implementation life cycle, from defining strategies and requirements through design, development, testing, rollout, and post-implementation support.
Brian has more than 25 years’ experience conceiving and implementing effective and intelligent cross-channel media that motivates targets and drives the delivery of business goals. His has created award-winning work for a prestigious list of B2B, B2C, and B2G clients including Kodak, Harvard Business School, Legal Sea Foods, LoJack, Thule Sports Products, Smith College, Pratt & Whitney, Bertucci’s, the MIT Sloan School of Business, Saucony, Nixon Peabody LLP, and Mohegan Sun. He is on the Advisory Board for The New England Institute of Art, served on the Knowledge Management Planning Council for Schlumberger Corporation, founded the Broadcast Designers of New England, and was a national board member of IDEA (Int’l Design by Electronics Association). Bram has been honored for his work by the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, Axiem Awards, WebAwards, the New England Direct Marketers Association, the Broadcast Designers Association, and Print Magazine’s Design Excellence award.
