I grew up in Muncie, IN. My parents struggled financially to support our family. My Dad and Mom worked very hard to give us everything we needed. My dad was a construction worker and worked many hours and extra jobs to help pay the bills. I get my work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit from him. My husband and I have owned a couple small businesses. They are hard work and consume your life. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. We enjoy a hard days work and appreciate other small businesses. Our dream is to have a successful small business that will support our family. Like the old saying, “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

More about this loan
We own and operate a small food truck in Barbourville, KY. We serve gourmet shaved ice and grilled cheese sandwiches. We started this business the beginning of 2016. We decided to start this business because we are very involved with our town and other small businesses. We want to see our downtown grow and thrive. We wanted to help prove to others that there is a market downtown for food trucks and restaurants. We have been very successful and are open 7 days a week. People crave a place to hang out and try other food options. Our biggest challenge is constant moving of the trailer several times a day. Our customers consist of children to adults. Everyone enjoys a nice cool treat on a warm day. Our goal for our business is to expand our options for winter months, expand to surrounding counties, and possibly open another truck.
What is the purpose of this loan?
We would like to purchase a new truck. With a newer truck we can go to surrounding counties and also not have to depend on friends and family for help. Being able to expand our market to surrounding counties will help us grow at least 30%. We could attend festivals, fairs, private events and other farmers markets.
