Free and Simple Mobile App to Pay School Fees
Ask any parent and they’ll tell you the same thing: paying for the countless number of athletics, after-school care, lunch, classroom supplies, donations, fieldtrips, and other school-related fees is extremely difficult to keep up with. Add in multiple kids at different schools with different payment procedures and systems and the process gets downright impossible. That’s where SKOOKii comes in.
For parents, SKOOKii provides relief with a convenient and simple way to pay for all your kids’ school and club expenses with just a single tap on our iOS and Android apps.
For schools, SKOOKii provides complete visibility over your financial state and recording — with no long-term contracts, and most importantly, for a grand sum of exactly zero dollars.
The best part for both groups? The other party doesn’t even need to be part of the SKOOKii system. Any organization can take SKOOKii payments, and any parent can pay any organization — we can service anyone even if they aren’t a user! SKOOKii is the only school payments platform parents can use even when their kid’s school is not registered with us.
After launching in May 2016, we’ve signed up over 40 schools completely organically. Our goal is to reach 100 schools by the end of September.
But schools are just the beginning! SKOOKii will soon be the go-to payments app for ALL kid-related payments. Whether it’s schools fees, summer programs, soccer camps, swimming clubs, or single-day activities like museums, YMCAs, Chuck E. Cheese’s, or similar local kid-friendly attractions, parents can pay for it all with a single tap on SKOOKii.
To see how we’re creating THE payment system for all youth activities and programs, read on!
As a millennial parent himself, the SKOOKii founder was frustrated sending cash with his son to pay for field trips, having to physically go into the front office to pay for lunches, and paying over the phone for after-school care and extracurricular activities.
Even worse, when his son changed schools, he had to register for a whole new system, fill out a stack of never-ending forms, and learn totally different school procedures.
As schools across the country continue to get less funding year-by-year due to state budget cuts, schools keep outsourcing these fees to parents. SKOOKii finally gives parents a way to easily manage these increasing number of fees.
Additionally, millennials have become the largest population of parents in the K-12 space, however, most of these schools are still using either manual paper-driven processes or expensive yet outdated legacy solutions. SKOOKii is a modern, mobile app fit for this generation of parents.
SKOOKii is the system parents and schools have been waiting for.
SKOOKii schools benefit from:
For schools, SKOOKii is decision making at your fingertips. We provide the full suite of administrative tools: invoicing, exporting to excel, and push notifications to parents who still owe.
Sonoran Schools: a STEM-focused Charter Management Organization that is constantly looking for new technologies to streamline business operations and easily manage their 7 schools. They also want to make their parents happy by making fee payment as easy as a single tap on their phone.
St. David Unified: a rural school with 800 students that is struggling financially due to minimal resources and is trying to find a free solution to help with school operations, while also showing parents that they are not lagging behind when it comes to newer technologies.
Washington Elementary School District: a school district in the heart of Phoenix, AZ with a large population of students with millennial parents. They cannot afford expensive business management/financial software, but want to move away from manual Excel spreadsheets and get real-time reporting.
For all these schools, SKOOKii is the answer they’ve been waiting for!
While simplifying the multitude of school-related payments were the impetus of our innovative app, SKOOKii has applications far beyond the classroom walls.
SKOOKii will soon become the go-to payments app for…
Think: camps, clinics, lessons, sports, tutoring, and more!
Think of SKOOKii as the Apple Pay for youth activities/programs. We are an all-encompassing payment system for whatever parents have their children involved in.
SKOOKii launched in May 2016. After testing our game-changing service with 15 schools, we’ve since expanded to over 40 schools in a very short time. Our pipeline is strong, and we expect to sign an additional 100 schools over the next two months.
We have a number of exciting additions to SKOOKii in the works!
eWallet Parents can place money in their kid’s eWallet so they can use it on lunches, activities, field trips, etc. Parents can then see and track what their kids are spending money on. The eWallet will also allow parents to send money to each other, between schools, etc. and donate to fundraisers.
QR code driven payments With QR codes, schools can facilitate on-site credit card payment without the need for payment hardware — a simple tablet will do.
eSignatures Safe, secure, and simple management of parent signatures and permission forms online.
Marketplace Eventually we want to build a marketplace for events and activities geared toward K-12 students. With Groupon and Apple Pay’s partnership, users can scroll through deals on local activities and with a single tap, buy a ticket. This is exactly how our marketplace would work, but all activities and events would be for kids.

In addition to being a frustrated parent dealing with the many antiquated payment systems in place at schools, Ali also spent six years on the other side of the equation, working for a school system that had no complete solution handle parent payments. In many cases, manual payments were made and the school had to manually track and report all of it. Ali is passionate about EdFinTech and handles everything at SKOOKii from day-to-day business and financial operations to marketing and sales and platform and feature development.
