The “Las Vengadoras” (The Avengers) communal bank is starting is first lending cycle with Pro Mujer as a part of Centro Focal Villa Exaltación. The communal bank is made up of eleven members and is overseen by a board of directors, of which señora Angelica is the president.

The loan they are taking out will benefit small, micro-entrepreneurs, and señora Angelica is one of them. She currently has a business selling sweets. She says that she learned the business from her mother a number of years ago.

The loan señora Angelica is taking out is for the purpose of increasing her capital so she can purchase wholesale sweets and chocolates. She will acquire her products from the wholesale vendors in La Paz and later sell them from her sales stall. This line of work allows señora Angelica to generate an income to support her family financially; she is single and has three children.
