Amphibia is the world’s first line of floating ANSI-rated eyegear. Crafted by combining the newest technology with the latest materials, Amphibia’s award-winning line of floating eyegear stretches the limits of what’s possible in performance eyewear.
Amphibia is the first eyewear company to include 100 percent polarization, AquaArmor lens coating technology, safety rating and floating technology, all in one beautiful product line.
Already distributed throughout the US by independent eyewear and outdoor retailers, Amphibia’s aggressive expansion plan, led by a push into eye care professional markets, will solidify our place in the $4 billion sunglasses market.
The sunglass market has a quality problem. Once innovative, sunglass manufacturers have coasted by on branding alone, cutting corners to save on costs while good marketing keeps their ship afloat.
Amphibia is reclaiming the industry with a simple mission: we’re making the world’s best performance eyewear. There’s really no comparison.
Amphibia frames are comfortable, but they stay firmly in place through most physical activities. If they do come off, though, no worries.
They float.
Our AquaArmor performance coating is a combination of a hydrophobic coating on the front of the lens and an anti-fog coating on the inside. The hydrophobic coating repels water and the anti-fog coating is self-defining.
Everything you want in a pair of sunglasses, you’ll find in Amphibia’s line of performance eyewear.
Everything you will ever need in a pair of sunglasses….
Amphibia’s quality is perfectly exemplified in our ANSI Z87.1 rating. Our ability to surpass the stringent guidelines required to obtain that rating while maintaining buoyancy is a phenomenal accomplishment in the eyewear industry. Never accomplished by any other competitor.
Let’s be clear on this: there are other floating sunglasses. The “others” use a common technique to create buoyancy which is called gas injection. But there are none that are so well-built that they also meet ANSI safety ratings.
Our patented AirCel technology allows us to strategically locate the buoyancy measures to not interfere with the impact rating of our product.
In other words, the industry has been put on notice. This is the new eyewear to beat. Can’t be beat due to our patent protection.
And our peers agree: Amphibia was named Best New Product in 2013 and 2014 at Vision Expo West, the first product ever to win back-to-back titles.
Quality doesn’t just happen. It’s the result of intense focus, uncompromising methods and superior materials.
The durable, lightweight polymers that form the basis of Amphibia’s high-flotation architecture work in concert with our patented AirCel technology, using encapsulated air to keep them afloat.
Amphibia’s two millimeter polycarbonate lenses are 100% polarized, so unlike the competition, Amphibia lenses can block solar radiation (UVC). Each lens undergoes our proprietary AquaArmor coating process:
Not all floating eyewear is created equal: to create true buoyancy, we’ve added a buoyancy measure to the bridge of the frame. Without bridge buoyancy, frames float vertically, exposing the surface area of the rear part of the lens to pressure and countless other environmental unknowns.
Amphibia’s line of eyewear floats horizontally, on top of the water. That makes it easier to see and able to recover to the surface of the water no matter how deep you take them.
And because the surface area of the lens isn’t exposed to water pressure, it can “recover” to the top of the water.
Yeah, we thought of everything.
The Amphibia line is unprecedented in the nonprescription market, but we also stand to profoundly impact the prescription sunglass market. Currently, there are no ANSI-rated floating prescription sunglasses on the market.
Amphibia’s digital etching technology makes it possible to manufacture high-power prescription lenses that are remarkably thin, buoyant and ultra-light. Thanks to a growing network of Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) already singing Amphibia’s praises, our line of prescription eyewear is already playing a key role in our success.
VEW is one of many prestigious awards the company has received in the past three years, but we’re more than a solid product. With seven different frame styles and 25 SKUs, we’ve grown revenue to approximately $500,000 through our growing list of dealer customers.
Last year, we sold 9,000 frames.
It’s time for an industry makeover. Quality is making a comeback.
