I am a native of Memphis, Tn. Before my mom had her second child, she was a single parent that used fashion to build character and personality. Throughout grade school she made sure that i was dressed appropriately with the correct attitude. This fueled my passion to become more than a consumer. I attended Western Kentucky University and studied Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising. Before graduating from WKU, i was approached by the WKU Small Business Accelerator, where i presented a “2 minute elevator pitch” and A.E.Westbrook was born. I currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky, where I design and produce handmade bow-ties.
This loan is special because:
More about this loan
A.E.Westbrook was started to introduce a collection of bow-ties that are easier to tie and more stable than the traditional bow-tie. These bow-ties are 100% handmade in Kentucky. A.E.W has a vision to become a brand that not only inspires others as well as influences them to dress better. By doing this, you can see firsthand the transformation that a wardrobe can have. It can change attitudes, perceptions, and a person’s overall well-being. We hope that A.E.W can inspire you to take style more seriously, and also have a little bit fun with it.
What is the purpose of this loan?
With this loan I will be able to purchase new sewing/embroidery machines that can total $800-$1000. I would also like to increase my monthly marketing budget by $30 as well as fund services rendered for marketing materials. Purchasing an embroidery machine allows me to embroider products in-house and decreases third-party fees. One of my goals for 2016 is to be a vendor in a local trade show. By entering trade shows it allows the brand to be critiqued and sold at a wholesale level. Attending trade shows will also allow me to promote and advertise my brand to a larger audience.
