I’m an illustrator from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m ready to release my first children’s book, The Line.
The Line is about beginnings and endings. With each page turn the simple black line takes on new shapes and encounters colors.
Once upon a time, I made a line.
It was simple, straight, and fine.
There were others like it,
But this one was mine.
What starts as a simple, straight line quickly becomes much more.
My plan for this story is much bigger than me. It is meant to be widely understood yet remain personal to each reader. While the story has a conclusion, readers will also have the opportunity to draw their own.
It went on, and on.
Then on, and on.
Until it was no longer,
The line I had drawn.
An early version of the line was recently read to first, second, and third graders. The students were quick to fill several folded 8.5×11 sheets of paper with their very own lines. My goal is to accept submissions from readers of all ages and share them with the world.
I want the world to read this book. First, I want you to read this book and share it with someone.
I’m on Kickstarter to build an audience and take my book to print. Funds raised will go directly to the printing and shipping of The Line. I have a printing company chosen and ready to go.
Thank you for your support!
The book is designed and ready for print. The only potential challenge is a delay in the printing and shipping process. I will be working with a printer overseas. Printing and shipping can take between 6-8 weeks. I will keep backers posted with continuous updates throughout the process (when I send to print, approve the proof, books are shipped, books are mailed to readers, etc).
