Join the Hate-Free Caravan community
Hundreds of people lived the Gino dream. Let’s hit the road again now and dream even bigger
We are Gino people. In the past 10 years we traveled for thousands kilometers across European borders. We fell in love with places and people from different countries. We built new friendships from scratch and strengthened many others after only a few hours. Some of us got together, others became colleagues, all of us are now friends.
We know you’re thinking: who is Gino? Well, at a first glance, Gino may look like a simple caravan, a funny old caravan, but it’s actually much more: Gino is a social multi-catalyzer. And our stories are the proof of its power.
So what about these stories? Well, with a bit of patience we will introduce you to this legend on four wheels. For now, what really matters is to let you understand why we are stealing your attention.
Through this campaign we want to open Gino’s world to a broader community. We want to spread its “hate-free” style and allow new people to have many more years ahead on-the-road together.
But first of all we need Gino to be in shape again, which means fixing the interior furniture and the engine.
By supporting this campaign you will have a chance to feel the power of this hate-free community. How? Well, you choose. Perhaps by taking part to an amazing hate-free party in Berlin, by enjoying a delicious Italian dinner on four wheels, – or even by getting Gino for yourself for an entire week and have your own travel experience. Or alternatively, by competing with your friends to take Gino to your city.
What’s the budget about
We need 5000 € to fix the interior furniture and engine. Should your love for Gino’s lifestyle exceed this funding goal, the party will be bigger and the pimpin’ even cooler.
During the last ten years of Euro-Crossing, jumping on all kind of battered roads and travelling with and exaggerated amount of people (how can you deny a ride to some new friends?), the internal furniture was damaged in a way that little interventions are no longer enough. Furthermore, the old but strong engine, needs to be cleaned and its valves changed in order to reduce its environmental impact.
With these repairs, Gino might be then lent to people who see its potential. We will have a trial with the biggest supporter of this campaign (have a look at our perk: “5 days with Gino”).
Why a party?
Because we want to celebrate the hate-free culture (somebody calls it easy going) in a secret place (details are coming soon) close to Berlin. We will have hate-free djs playing hate-free music. We will serve hate-free cocktails (have you ever tasted a Gino-Tonic?) for hate-free people. If you’re not hate-free .. we’re sorry, this campaign might be not be your thing.
What “Hate-free” means to us
We believe building bridges across cultures and embracing diversity are key to foster serendipitous stories and unexpected friendships, even when cultural or ethnic differences seem to be an obstacle, and that enjoying life starts from exploring unknown territories with an open mind and curiosity.
Traveling across different lands, communities, religions, taught us that the biggest borders are in our minds, and that freedom, sometimes, is a choice.
From now on, we want to spread this message wherever we go. This is why we asked a Tina Jeler, Slovenian type artist, to tag in on Gino and carry it on a funny and old caravan from dusty roads to fancy squares!
Oh yes, now it’s time for those stories we promised. Do you need some more words about Gino’s hate-free potential? Ok, here’s something for you:
- Manuela used to wear high heels every single day of her life. On her first journey on Gino, after only one day she walked barefoot during the whole trip. After the second journey she decided to wear heels only for really special occasion (well, this is not about love, nor about being hate-free: it’s just about free feet – or at least changing perspectives! ).
- Miloš had just left his job in Marketing when he joined Gino on a trip to Greece. In front of a Greek beach, Manuela told him about a vacancy in the company she was working for. During that trip, Milos decided not to go back home and took a ride to Berlin to have a job interview. Now, Miloš and Manuela have been working together for 2 years.
- When we met Hairo, he had just been cheated by a travel agency that sold him a fake ticket to Mexico at the end of his Erasmus year in Sevilla. He jumped on board of Gino during a Spain-Portugal journey, during which he celebrated his best birthday party ever (as he said).
- On a journey in Sarajevo, Peppe chose to jump off Gino and to stay in the Balkans to study and work on Human Rights and Democracy for two years.
- After that, Peppe remained in Sarajevo long enough to welcome Rachele, another Gino travel companion, that was so impressed that she chose to start the same studies and move to Sarajevo an year later.
