I always remember as a child living in Puerto Rico, being in the kitchen and watching my incredible grandmother cook time after time. There were no recipes, no formal training, and little refinement but she had the gift, the natural ability to transform a simple ingredient into something magical. This incredible talent was inside of her and I gravitated towards this passion and respect for fresh whole foods. Mango and Avocado trees growing in the back yard, and I could never forget the sweet smell of fresh cut coconut when she made her favorite desserts, Tembleque-Coconut Pudding. Now as a restaurant-trained chef with over 13 years of experience, I honor food, love developing flavors, have never forgotten the important lessons and still gravitated to the freshest ingredients!” Chefkeila is an Institute of Culinary Education graduate & began her professional career in 2003. Straight out of school she landed her first job at New York Times 3-stars New American restaurant and soon joined many incredible restaurants in NYC. Working in these top restaurants in NYC she was introduced to High-quality ingredients, refined techniques and unique food preparations. Soon after she was inspired and wanted to expanded her approach, where she joined several prestigious catering companies. There she learned to produce high volume events and pastry arts. As a multi-talented chef with over 13 years of experience in restaurants, catering, baking, and personal chef services she dreams to have a successful catering business.
