Common Grace Coffee Company
For as long as I can remember I have been a dreamer. I have always been a person who sees the structure of a building before I see the the bricks that make a building. This is the way that I have been wired, the normal bounds and restrictions of dreams have always been minimal in my eyes and I truly believe in the things that are important to me. Furthermore I believe they can be accomplished. Of course over optimism is not always good but it does foster tenacity and commitment to a dream, that is a good way to see me, I am a person with a dream and the tenacity to pursue it.

More about this loan
While it is true that we will provide high quality specialty coffee that we ourselves roast, as well as other coffee beverages, and light delicious food, our true desire and aim is to create a community fostering space where people can laugh and learn; rest and relax, meet friends and make new friends. Our physical, tangible product will be coffee and edibles, however, we will take most pride in the community fostering aspects of Common Grace Coffee Company. The physical needs of communities and of people are only met on the surface via benevolence or handouts; being involved in community though, people begin to learn who they are and how they contribute to the needs of the community
Our target customers are the people of Southwest Dearborn; Southwest Dearborn is a place where people care about the community. We want to give those people a place where we can strive together for a better community while at the same time making artesian specialty coffee available to all people through wholesale and retail distribution at fair costs.
The table is a centerpiece of gathering. It is most often around a table where ideas are born and laughter is shared. Coffee is our way of getting people around tables for community, because few things bring people together as coffee does. We do what we do because we believe that it is in the context of community that the most good is done. At the same time, there is also great need on so many of the farms that we get our coffee from- we also want to strive to build and establish coffee importing co-ops. By doing so we create more opportunities to develop more sustainable communities globally through farm partnerships
What is the purpose of this loan?
Right now, we are roasting coffee in a small room in my house. A room that will be for our new child that is coming in November. We have been using it to roast the coffee that we distribute at local farmers markets. However as we have done so we have watched the community rally around us and encourage us to open a shop. This loan will help us start that process, it will help us get the ball rolling on a community fostering place in Dearborn Michigan!
