So Cal Pokemon aims to be an app that pulls location and pokemon info to allow users to search by pokemon name or by city.

We are a group of Pokemon Trainers who want to bring the Southern California Community together in the quest to catch them all.

We want to make a website that makes it easy for trainers to track where sightings of pokemon are, based on pokemon and on city. By pulling data from all users, it will allow users in southern California to serach for specific pokemon and see where they have been caught in the past, to increase the chance of catching the specific pokemon.

This helps poke-trainers pin point geographical locations and optimizes their hunting.

As the App grows, we plan the following features:

A.   create a “Poke-Meet” event page, where people can meet and explore cities together! Users make these “meets”, where poke-trainers meet and explore certain areas for a safer experience.

B. Rankings (based on Pokemon caught)

C. Gym Rankings ( battle records and amount of time someone has held on to a gym).

D. a Map of all Gyms in southern California with current trainer.

E. Scouting points – a rewards program that incentives people to catch pokemon. By sharing your catches, you collect points, which will be redeemable for pokemon merchandize or gift cards.

Risks and challenges

The major risks of completing this project is not being able to properly sync to users. We want to turn the project into an App that allows users to sync their current location and upload the pokemon they caught.

We have a subscription based blog format in the interim until we have the funding to develop the app!
