Fino Capital, Inc.
I am a second generation Mexican American born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. My parents were hard working entrepreneurs who started a family restaurant, which is where I gained my first experience in business at age 10. As I continued to develop my entrepreneurial skills throughout life, I learned the value of education; and more importantly, how to overcome the challenges which business owners face on a daily basis. One of the most valuable lessons acquired was: “Human resources are a business’s greatest asset, for a company– large or small — often boils down to a few good people, and its growth will be dependent upon its ability to attract other like minded individuals.” Armed with this insight and experience, I went on to start my own Tequila company at the age of 21, and most recently a publishing company — Fino Capital, Inc. The goal of Fino Capital is to publish works which empower society with broadened perspective, tackling controversial issues such as legal drug use, women’s equality, unethical policing practices and the need for alternative energy sources — all while enrapturing the reader within an entertaining story line. We feel that there is no better way to raise awareness than to place a reader — mentally — in someone else’s shoes so that they may gain a different perspective on life. Unfortunately, humans often look at issues from the outside in, which makes us subject to becoming judgmental, but seeing the world through someone else’s eyes brings about understanding, change and advancement in a society.

More about this loan
Have you understood more by taking a moment to see the world through someone else’s eyes?
I started this company 6 years ago with this goal in mind — to raise social awareness to such topic as women’s equality, racial disparity, and gun control — by placing readers within a broad spectrum of characters’ point of view. My greatest challenge was to select titles which hold the readers attention, while also getting them to connect with the lives of others painted across each page, for there is no greater lesson learned than to step in someone else’s shoes — literally or within ones imagination. Now with 13 titles in hand, I set out this year with one goal in mind, to change the world one reader at a time.
Brief Description of our first title: ARMISTICE This intense novel transports the reader into an advanced society where everything is simply placed at one’s fingertips; yet this simplicity complicates human interaction — love, hate and fear — in unforeseeable ways. Is this THE future or OUR future?

I am amongst the first generation of entrepreneurs in my family and my success will not only serve as an example of how hard work and study can pay off for me personally, but also serve as an example for those within my family. My community is one in which low-wage earning labor is the mantra, and entrepreneurship within a literary venture is far stretch from reality. I will be an example of a Mexican-American who succeeded in not only business, but also in elevating a culture through my literary contribution — proving that Mexican-Americans are not just hard workers, we are also great thinkers!
