Help Journalist in Tbilisi Get to ONA NewsCon
A call for supporting a poo,r Georgian-based journalist make an impact at U.S. ONA news conference
OVERVIEW
Help this poor, Tbilisi-based journalist attend the 2016 ONA news conference in Denver, Colorado this September. Goal: I would like to showcase our Georgian-built, storytelling tool and seek financial support while putting Georgia, a small country in the Caucasus, on the map as a leader in media innovation. All we need is your help to ensure we can connect with the right people to make our dream a reality! Consider even giving a little as every bit helps.
Short Summary
Help me get to the Online News Association conference in Denver, Colorado this September so I can meet the people who can help support us to make tools for journalists in Georgia, our small, Caucasian country.
In 2014, our team at JumpStart created a simple tool to enable us to create modern, media-rich stories without having to code each one. StoryBuilder, built on our own dime to meet a local Georgian demand with an open-source and free solution, is now serving hundreds of journalists all over the world in over 16 languages. We built it for ourselves and have received a lot of positive, albeit critical feedback from StoryBuilder users that have their own needs. We’d like to meet their needs and improve the tool.
Participation in the conference will enable me to meet the people who can supportour work with ideas and funding.
Risks & Challenges
The risk is that I attend and unable convince colleagues of my cause, which I think is unlikely, but it is a possibility. That being said, any opportunity to even meet and discuss the awesome journalistic work of the JumpStart team will only be beneficial, so despite the main risk, this would really be a win-win.
Other Ways You Can Help
