Are you tired of having the ever annoying “Let” being called during a competitive tennis point? Us, too! CourtHarbor is the creator of the Ball Hub, tennis court divider. Ball Hubs reduce the amount of stray balls and “Lets” during match play; allowing for safer, less-interrupted tennis. Additionally, facilities can feature their logo, colors, and/or sponsors on the Ball Hubs, providing an on-court branding opportunity never before seen in the tennis industry.
The first Ball Hub was sold in January 2014. Today, many college tennis programs across all divisions–Division I, II, III and NAIA, have CourtHarbor’s Ball Hubs on their tennis courts. Tennis clubs across the U.S., including West Side Tennis Club Forest Hills in NY (former host site of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships), have seen the value of our Ball Hubs and added them to their courts. We must now capitalize on the momentum built from our market presence. While we are encouraged by the response to date, we know we have only scratched the surface!
CourtHarbor went to market in August of 2013 and made our first sale in January 2014. We hadrelatively good success considering the business was being run by only 3-4 individuals on a part-time basis. In July 2015, the founder of the company, Jon McLamb, decided to leave his full-time job (along with the comfortable salary and full benefits) to focus all of his time and effort on CourtHarbor. He did so because of his deep belief in the uniqueness of the product. Being a former collegiate player and coach, as well as teaching tennis professionally, Jon knew the sport well and felt like his “light bulb moment” idea would be successful. He believed this because of the practical need the product meets and the creative branding opportunity the product provides to tennis clubs, college and high school programs, junior tennis academies and corporate sponsors. Between October 2015 and May 2016, Jon added four additional team members. Today many of the top college tennis programs in the country and some of the most notable tennis clubs in the country, have CourtHarbor’s Ball Hubs on their courts for its functionality and branding capabilities.
CourtHarbor is a small company with BIG ideas and even BIGGER goals (we don’t plan on being small for long). Day in and day out when the lights come on, and especially once the coffee is made, our team goes to work…and we work HARD.
The reason is simple.
We have a tireless passion for tennis, connecting with amazing people, developing innovative products, and ultimately, creating an enhanced tennis experience for players, coaches, and facilities across the country.
CourtHarbor and our unique products will always aim to be innovative, functional, and brandable. The Ball Hub is a great start for us. However it’s only just beginning…
Weplan on serving an ace in the tennis universe by creatively branding tennis courts while also providing functional products. With time, and a bit more coffee, we will.
Determined, collaborative, and passionate are the qualities that best describe our team. Our diverse set of skills, backgrounds, interests, and personalities have been crucial to our success in developing innovative tennis products, and having fun in the process!
Our desire to see tennis played, taught, and marketed in new, creative ways requires a lot of brainstorming, focus, and energy. It’s vital that we are able to think beyond the baseline.
While it’s imperative that we are consistently “dialed-in”, we make sure we take time to have fun by laughing at ourselves, laughing with each other, and staying loose. Ultimately, while what we do is important, we realize the why in what we do is the most important.
Our “why” lives in our passion for positively impacting the lives of our customers, partners, and community; with innovative products, our outstanding customer service, and our willingness to never settle for less.
That is our why, and this is our team…
