Vitalife sells healthy foods, drinks, and supplements from their website and in-store. Vitalife offers over 10,000 products, but unsold products being thrown away sprouted a new arm to the operation. Love Health Hate Waste is a brand set up to sell the goods from Vitalife that have exceeded their BBD at heavily reduced prices, and achieved more than £23k in sales this May. Last year the company exceeded £400k in revenue and made a profit.
- Revenue exceeded £400,000 last year and was profitable
- LHHW exceeded £23,000 in sales this May
- The team are aiming to reduce food waste here in the UK
- Funds will be used to expand their range and increase sales
We offer healthy food, drink, and supplements past their BBD at massively reduced prices – making healthy eating affordable for all, and reducing food waste (the products we buy and sell would otherwise be sent to landfill).
As part of Vitalife – a company incorporated in 2009, Love Health Hate Waste was an brand generated from our core business www.vitalifehealth.com. We were throwing health products away that reached their BBD, and it seemed very wasteful considering we believed the products were still perfectly fit for consumption and legal to sell. It transpires that the industry giant Tesco have this problem on a wide scale, so we began to purchase stock from retailers and channel sales through our additonal brand www.lovehealthhatewaste.com. Since May 2015 when we launched the concept, we have saved an extensive number of health foods, drinks, and supplements from going to landfill waste and instead made them available to consumers at massively reduced prices.
The response has been extremely positive, with Love Health Hate Waste now becoming the primary focus of our company – delivering over £23,000 in sales for May this year. The company also continues to operate www.vitalifehealth.com, a wholesale operation supplying Holland and Barrett with our own brand of matcha green tea, and a high-street store.
