Loon Medical, Inc., incorporated in 2013, is the manufacturer of the CareSentinel patient monitoring system, and an FDA-registered medical manufacturing company developing and commercializing mobility solutions for a domestic and global marketplace.
Loon Medical is based in Norwich, CT. The company develops innovative medical products for home use and care facilities. While generating new product ideas and absorbing ideas from our clients, Loon Medical founders hold several dozen patents and FDA 510-K product clearances.
In 2013, CareSentinel became a patented product line by Loon Medical founded by Heidi Douglas and Margaret Curtis. The Bluetooth monitoring technology was self funded until February 2015. It focused on creating a home health care environment that provides an easier, more affordable patient monitoring system for caregivers. CareSentinel’s mission is to make living at home safer and easier for patients while allowing caregivers a freer lifestyle throughout the home.
Our bed, chair, toilet, incontinence, and doorway sensors connect with a bedside call button for distress alerts or our wireless Personal Security button called CareCom™ that alerts distant caregivers via SMS text or 911 services in case of an emergency.
CareSentinel offers an integrated solution of home sensors and corresponding Smart Phone and tablet Applications. CareSentinel is the ‘Caregiver’s Helper’, providing an early warning to caregivers when a resident gets up from a bed, chair, toilet, or exits a room or house. The CareSentinel Alert Systems provides easy to use sensors to support the caregiver by providing Bed, Chair, Incontinence and Toilet Occupancy Sensors. We also provide a convenient call button as well as a portal sensor to monitor potential wandering and exits from patient care areas.
The sensors trigger an alert on your iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Android phone or tablet when activated by the resident or patient. Using our exit or motion sensors with wireless Bluetooth connectivity allows the caregiver to be alerted to a potentially unsafe condition so they can react quickly and go to the aid of the resident when they need assistance.
