Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is emboldening today’s patients and eschewing the cookie cutter approach that has permeated throughout the healthcare industry for decades.
Given your specific genetic dispositions, Titan will show you which medications are safe to take, which medications won’t mix well, and even the ideal dosage for you personally. Advanced healthcare made personal.
Our non-invasive cheek swab test is unparalleled in its cost effectiveness and quick turnaround time — essential components when waiting for needed medications.
Using our proprietary methodology, Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC can help improve outcomes when prescribing oral contraceptives, antidepressants, sleeping aids, pain medications, and anticoagulants. Women’s health is a major focus at Titan, and in the short time since opening our doors, we’ve already helped a number of women avoid the risk of developing blood clots from taking oral contraceptives — an uncommon side effect, but one that could lead to death or serious disability for those genetically incompatible with that medication.

This is generally known as pharmacogenomics: the branch of science that deals with the influence of genetic variation on drug response in patients by correlating gene expression with a drug’s efficacy or toxicity.
Why is this important?
Because medication prescription is ridiculously high.
Because adverse drug events need to stop.
Four medications accounted for more than two thirds of these emergency hospitalizations:
Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is a unique medical lab focused on genetic testing to identify whether or not a patient is a non-metabolizer, a normal metabolizer, or a rapid metabolizer of a prescribed medication. Along with other simple non-invasive tests like urine toxicology and carrier screening, we can drastically cut down on the over-prescription and adverse drug events in the US healthcare system.
Many health problems affect women differently than men — birth control pills and pregnancy increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis, for example. Additionally, women are more likely to die following a heart attack than men. Our dedication to women’s health is a continuation of our anti-one-size-fits-all stance. Women and men need different health care, and Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is providing that care for women.
One of the most common medications we warn women about is oral contraceptives. Risk of developing blood clots and blockage of blood vessels are two of the most serious side effects of taking oral contraceptives and can cause death or serious disability.
Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is so committed to improving healthcare for women that we have formed a completely unique, only one its kind, Women’s Health Panel that can help address many of above issues by:
Identifying women at increased risk of developing DVT following hormonal therapy (oral contraceptives) or pregnancy (e.g. 5% of women carry the Factor V mutation, that in turn increases the risk of a DVT 35 fold).
Medication safety based on genetic testing (e.g. drug package insert recommends a 2D6 genetic test before codeine based medications — Percocet, Vicodin, etc. — for nursing mothers).
Identify carriers of the most common genetic disorder affecting children in the US (1 in 31 people in the US are carriers of cystic fibrosis). The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that healthcare providers make cystic fibrosis screening available to all couples.
Identify women at increased risk of heart attack (MTHFR, factor II), and heightened pregnancy related complications like having a child with spina bifida, preeclampsia, pregnancy loss, etc.
Although women and men have many of the same health problems, patterns of prescription drug use and likeness of experiencing an adverse drug reaction can vary greatly.
Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC Women’s Health and Wellness test provides a unique, non-invasive method to determine potential health risks that can be minimized through early detection. The test is painless and easy. A cotton swab is rubbed on the inside of a patient’s inner cheek and sent to our lab. There, we evaluate the patient’s genetic makeup to determine if they are at risk of experiencing an adverse drug reaction when taking certain medications.
In addition to our one-of-a-kind Women’s Health Panel, there are many reasons why Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC represents the future of healthcare.
The future of medical care is based on early detection of disease states for more effective therapy. Additionally, genetic predisposition, once established, can help prevent disease manifestations by avoiding triggers that start the disease cascade. With Titan’s test results, physicians will be able to tailor treatment based on an individual’s genetic map, avoiding the cookie-cutter approach that is fast becoming an outdated delivery mode of healthcare. Our patient centered test menu is focused on keeping the patient healthy and living longer by early detection before the claws of disease can sink in.
Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC provides non-invasive options for the majority of physician’s test panels, via a buccal swab (saliva) or urine sample to help launch this revolution in personalized medicine. No blood drawn, all outpatient clinic compatible.
Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC provides actionable reports on leading edge technology allowing easy assimilation into daily patient care. Currently, many patients expect healthcare providers to predict future disease states based on family history and/or genetic testing. Our test menu follows society guidelines and avoids tests with questionable value to minimize wasteful spending of limited healthcare resources. However, our test menus are frequently updated based on new information that becomes available, providing up to date diagnostic capabilities. Research is an integral part of Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC, as we continue to collect data to demonstrate meaningful use of cutting edge diagnostics.
Our futuristic IT capabilities minimize time required for test requests that can be handled via standard computers, tablets and smartphones, with direct EMR integration on the test results in most clinics. Reports include a dashboard summary of prior tests to provide a bird’s eye view of the utility of testing, individualized to each provider.
Most mid-sized genetic labs have little to no clue when it comes to compliance and Medicare reimbursement issues. Sales reps are nationally disgruntled and lack transparency. Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is committed to full compliance, and our sales reps have direct visibility via our sales portal into testing and reimbursement.
Additionally, very few companies are managed by a MD. Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is, and we’re able to obtain significant insight into physician requirements and expectations.
By combining genetic testing with toxicology, Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is able to deliver more meaningful reports with higher reimbursements.
Personalized medicine (targeted therapeutics) are set to become the new standard in drug delivery. Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC is leading the charge.
As we continue to grow, demand is outpacing our supply. We’re looking to purchase two more machines to increase our capacity and handle all the test inquiries we have received. Karthikeshwar Kasirajan, MD, founded Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC in November 2015. Prior to founding the company, he held positions of Professor of Surgery at various universities around the country and served as Chief Medical Officer for multiple companies.
Karthik decided to found Titan Molecular Laboratories LLC because few doctors were following FDA package guidelines for testing, exposing patients to high risk for drug complications. Having a mother-in-law who passed away due to ineffective breast cancer medication as a result of undiagnosed genetic incompatibility, Karthik knew something had to be done to help others in similar situations.
Karthik obtained his medical degree from Madras Medical College & Government Hospital in Madras, India. He completed residency programs in General Surgery at Western Reserve Care System, Lincoln Medical & Mental Health System, and Grant Medical College, followed by a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Karthik has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to close to 20 books. He is a well-sought after presenter and lecturer, having participated in hundreds of events around the world.
